Mission Statement
The academy is a Registered Community Interest Company whose vision is to provide first class alternative education for young people aged between 11 and 19 who at the present time either choose not to or find it difficult to achieve reward and recognition in mainstream education.
Using sport and in particular boxing as a vehicle to support its goals and engage and enthuse and motivate young people.

The ABAE programmes in schools can be accredited to ASDAN qualifications such as Wider Key Skills and CoPE (the Certificate of Personnel Effectiveness). They promote, and allow centres to record a wide range of personal qualities, abilities and achievements, as well as introducing them to new activities and challenges. They are fundable qualifications and certificated outcomes assist learners with progression into further education and employment.
The ABAE boxing Awards are a non contact, recreational programme for all participants at all levels, ages and abilities. The scheme is open to everyone age seven and up and helps promote a healthy lifestyle fitness, discipline and enjoyment through sport
The Awards are very flexible and can be delivered in PE Curriculum time , the extended schools package (the governments 5 hour offer) or as part of a school holiday programme.
The Contender – AM Box programme offers a unique opportunity for young people to engage in sport and citizenship education. The elements of non-contact boxing within the programme provide fitness and self defence techniques. This is supported with modules on diet, together with citizenship issues which collectively deliver a bespoke programme to fit local needs. Open to kids 11 – 19 Free of charge
GCSE assessments . If your child would like to choose to learn boxing as part of their GCSE the academy can coach, provide evidence of achievement and complete the required assessment
